Central Florida is a great place to photograph
birds. With all the water throughout the area, there are plenty of
opportunities, including various types of birds in flight. In addition
to Joe Overstreet Road and some of the other highways and byways, for
which my big 600mm lens was the best solution, I took a 400mm f/4 along,
plus teleconverters, which allowed both shooting from the car window as
well as capturing aerialists at work. Both types of shooting were
realized, as the
Joe
Overstreet gallery and the
Eastern Meadowlark gallery shows, and as this
collection demonstrates. It was my first concentrated flight shooting
experience, and my keeper rate could have been higher, but everything
improves with practice. |
